This is a copy of the former Homepage of Henny Savenije about the Boekholt and Savenije Genealogy.

With this website I would bring a homage to Henny Savenije. Henny produced and maintained the database that is the base of this site.

Since several years he gave many hobby-genealogists the opportunity to add their familytrees to the database.

I would like to give those "members" the opportunity to continue their work.

Membership is free and those who add to the database will be able to download gedcom-files for private use at home.

If you want to leave as a member you will get the opportunity to delete all private entries you made.

Copyright

There is no copyright on any of the information shown on this site.

Anyone who is publishing genealogical information should be aware of the fact that general information can be copied and used by anyone.

Only the combination of documents/sources and general family information can be seen as personal ownership.

If you don't want to share your work with others don't put the documents you collected from archives online.

We are looking for genealogists who can manage this domain and the sites that are hosted here. If you are interested please follow this link

Enter the database here

At Veenkoloniale voorouders, the former internetaddress and homepage of Henny, now maintained by Rob Hubert, you can find a copy of this database.

There are several differences concerning  the management of the sites

  This site Hubert's Site
Ownership of private information added by users User Site owner
Gedcom download Yes No
Connection with the Latterday Saints (LDS) No Yes

Information gathered by de LDS can not be removed from their database!! So, take care when you add your tree to Hubert's site.

Since 5 years I am trying to remove wrong information, produced by somebody who misinterpreted some information, from their database but they don't even react on my emails and letters.

For others the information given by the LDS becomes a source. There are many people who will use LDS information for publications.

For further differences just have a look at and compare the design of the sites.

PS: you find Henny's database also here at Geneanet

Below is the original text of the homepage of Henny Savenije

These genealogy pages were mainly about the Savenije and Boekholt family, but there are many people outside of these two lineages, who can find items of interest.

As of recent there are more than 758.000 persons (abt 790.000 in jun 2016), 286.000 families, 56000 last names, 21500 photos and documents and 140 sources included in this genealogical database.

Have fun exploring this site, but please don't ask me for extra information, as I have very little disposable time to devote to this site at the moment.
I would much appreciate it if anyone could add or correct data via the existing links on line. I would ask that you contact me to obtain the necessary password, to enable you to do so.

If you have additional data, please drop me a line at webmaster at geneagraphie.com (just copy and replace the "at" with @)

I have to pay courtesy to

  • Willem Hohenstein for the Boekholt genealogy,

  • John Groffen for the Vas Diaz family,

If you feel you should have been mentioned here, please contact me. I have a list with words for the sources. Please print it for reference, there are several ways to access the database, you can go straight to the surname list. or just explore the I just installed new software (tng11) that enables you to browse through the site using different parameters .

There is a list of persons of which I couldn't directly find the relations. Please click here.

If you click on Statistics you can find people by numbers, families, names and many other interesting facts and additional links

The coat of arms.

The Coat of Arms was found in a dairy of one of the Savenije's who went to Italy as a Zouaaf (a soldier to fight against Garibaldi to defend the papal states). It probably was a fantasy, because to his disappointment, he actually never fought in battle. The Coat of Arms was never registered, but it is still possible to register it today. It is just nice to look at and after all, it is at least 150 years old. Below you can see three examples. Two of the pictures can be enlarged for personal use.
